Terms of Service

By using Clipsy ("the Service"), available at clipsy.cc, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Clipsy is a web tool that allows users to:

• Upload short video files and automatically generate captioned clips.
• Submit YouTube URLs to extract and caption highlight clips.
• Choose caption styles, languages, and export quality.

Some features require a free account (Google sign-in). Processing YouTube videos consumes minutes from your subscription plan's monthly allowance.

• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You agree not to use Clipsy to:

• Process content you do not own or have rights to (including copyrighted videos).
• Generate or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, abuse the metering system, or exploit security vulnerabilities.
• Automate requests beyond normal usage (scraping, bots, bulk automated submissions).
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission.

• You retain ownership of any video content you upload or process.
• By using the Service, you grant Clipsy a limited, temporary license to process your content solely to deliver the output to you.
• Clipsy does not claim ownership of your content.
• Processed output files are deleted within 24 hours. You are responsible for downloading your results.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any content you submit (including YouTube videos).

• Paid plans are monthly subscriptions that include an allowance of processing minutes, as displayed on the Pricing page.
• Payments are processed securely by Paddle, acting as merchant of record. Applicable VAT/sales tax is collected by Paddle. Clipsy does not store payment card data.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; remaining minutes stay usable.
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
• We reserve the right to modify plan pricing with reasonable notice.

• Clipsy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be updated, modified, or taken offline at any time.
• Processing times and output quality may vary based on video content, length, and server load.
• We are not responsible for issues arising from third-party services (YouTube, Google, Paddle, Groq).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clipsy and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Clipsy in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Clipsy integrates with third-party services including Google (authentication), Paddle (payments), Supabase (database), and Groq (transcription). Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

When using the YouTube clips feature:

• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to clip and use the content.
• You must comply with YouTube's Terms of Service.
• Clipsy does not host or redistribute YouTube content — it processes and returns clips to you.

These terms are governed by applicable law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
